Wow!! I can't believe the first month has flown by in this journey! The first part of this process was to set the stage for where I'm at, so I can have a more clear understanding of how I want to move forward.
Last week, in particular, I looked at potential roadblocks that could hinder my progress.
Instead of seeing a deer in the headlights - freaking out or changing course - I want to use the awareness of those roadblocks to better navigate my path in the future.
Which is why I'm super excited that this month we dive into some tangible tools to do so!
I know, for myself, my goals are multi-faceted, and directed in several areas of my life, there is a common thread that makes achieving these goals possible.
It’s what we call the I AM process, which is described in greater detail on page 67 of my It Just Makes Sense book. As a sidebar, it's the 5th Anniversary of this book, and we're selling it for only $5 this month (plus S+H), so that you can cost-effectively join me (1) on this journey through the mastery course, and (2) have a great resource for many other topics in life. Simply use the code MASTERY at checkout.
Ok, shameless plug aside, this month we're going to use a simple acronym to start clarifying what we want, and how to allow it to come into being. The acronym is "I AM," and it stands for Intention, Attention, and Manifestation.
Each week this month, we’re going to break down a concept of the I AM, so you can more effectively put it into action in your daily life.
The first part of this is directing your course.
If you were planning a vacation, oftentimes you would have a destination in mind. If you just wanted to get out of town, then you'd probably start researching areas that could peak your interest. You might even talk to friends to get ideas, search the internet for deals, and read reviews about hotels, restaurants, and attractions.
Then, when you decide where you’re going, you would know how to pack, how to get there, and what to expect once you get there.
The same goes for your goals.
Today, I highly recommend you take out the goals you have for yourself in the next few months, year, and overall lifetime goals (If you haven't done this yet, I highly recommend you do).
Then, tomorrow we'll start a simple, yet powerful exercise to add clarity to those goals, or intentions.
Some things on my intention list:
- Live bi-coastal, traveling with the seasons
- take a pasta-making class in Italy
- play the northernmost US golf course in Alaska, at 12 am during the summertime, so that you finish the round with breakfast
- have passive income from rental properties
- watch surfers during a giant swell on the North Shore of Hawaii
- visit all 50 states
- write a book on psychology and golf
- spend at least one holiday per year with my family, even though we're all spread out
- reach out to others when I think of them (via text, email, card, or visit)
- be able to handstand well into my seventies
These are just a few of mine. What are yours?
