I'm not sure if you're into watching "The Voice" as much as I am this season.
I was a latecomer to this trend, as I am to most. I'm not usually the first on the bandwagon of anything, but if it sticks around, I'll check it out.
Once I started, I was hooked! And, this season is just another step up in greatness!
I was particularly struck by Billy Gillman's cover of the Martina McBride Song, "Anyway."
The message is about doing what's in your heart, regardless of what other's say, or what the outcome might entail. In short, it's about being true to yourself.
This message could not have been spoken more strongly than through the situation with letting go of a gal at work this week.
In my heart, I wanted to write her a letter before she left.
I was told, "That's not what you do in the business sphere."
On account of the song above, I wrote her anyway.
I shared with her how she is smart, eager to help, and has wonderful people skills. I wanted her to know that her care for her family, and ability to be honest, was very refreshing.
I especially wanted her to know that I recognized her courage to take a leap of faith and try something new, not fully being able to predict the end result.
Mostly, I wanted her to be reminded of the knowing that, while we might not be able to see the next step, we can trust ourselves in the process.
These words of inspiration were really ones that I was reminded about for myself yesterday when I drew my three angel cards.
The first card was picked from the deck with the intention that it represented by past, my foundation.
The word: POWER
The message: Own your power. Every storm reveals a fresh, new beginning.
Seriously, I couldn't be making this up. Not only was this true for the gal in the office, but true for me too.
Last week on Thanksgiving break, taking time off of work (and unpredictably, time away from writing) I was reminded of how important it is to simply make peace with where you're at. Only then, can we really see the present moment as the launch pad for the next step. Instead of running from what is, I can see the good in it and add clarity for what's next. When I do that--when I really feel content inside, regardless of that storm outside--I tap into my real power!
Card two was next. It was selected with the intention of gaining a message about my current situation.
The word: RISK
The message: Take a risk. You have the power within to move mountains.
Okay, so I get it. I'm acknowledging my situation and appreciating it for the learning it's providing. Now, use that power to take a risk.
To me, risk is a strong word. It's about the unknown. Seemingly it feels risky only because of the unforeseen variables. Yet, when approaching the next step from a place of power, somehow it seems like faith.
Surprisingly, and completely miraculous, was my next card.
The card with a message for which to place
my focus moving forward.
The word (no joke): TRUST
The message: Trust your decisions. March to the beat of your own heart.
This brings me full circle to why I wrote the letter to a gal I might never see again. It's why I take the time to write this blog (even if no one reads it). It's why I'm willing to move in ways that might not seem logical to others.
I have to be true to my heart.
I have to recognize that that same power to create worlds resides in me, and that there is a constant light shining brightly on the path for my life.
It only takes my awareness to focus on that path, listen for the next step, and be willing to take action, in faith, when called.
Synchronistically, this is the same theme that starts this next week of the Awaken your Purpose Mastery Course.
It's about experiencing the joy in the moment.
I can't think of a better way to do that than by listening to your heart. Can you?
