Take the Fast Track ... Slowly!

Although my birthday was a few months ago now, I'm finally getting around to utilizing one of my most unique gifts--a bottle of Sailor Jerry spiced rum. Yes, it's true, I do enjoy an adult beverage now and again... and really thrive on making these craft cocktails with natural ingredients and interesting flavor profiles.

Last night, I could have created one of the best drinks ever! (surprisingly, I think I say that every time a new sensation comes out of the shaker, but this one is incredible!!)

I'm calling it the Fast Track.

Whether you on jet-setting your way to the top of your field, or to a happier you, this concoction will make you feel on top of the world... and, if you're a lightweight like me, it won't take you long to get there.

The Fast Track Recipe:

  • 1 1/2 oz Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
  • 1/2 oz Canton Ginger liqueur
  • 1/4 oz limoncello liqueur
  • 1/2 green apple, juice (I cut mine up into small pieces, and then used my citrus squeezer to get the juice out)
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 5 drops apple bitters
  • 1-2 oz ginger brew

I put the first six ingredients into a shaker with ice, and shook vigorously. Then, I added the ginger brew and stirred, to get it all mixed together well. Pour into your favorite martini glass, and serve with a lemon wedge, if desired.

Note: I recommend sipping slowly, despite the urge to gulp down this delicious treat!
