Beliefs are our values and perspectives about life. Sometimes beliefes are evident. Other times, they are tucked away in the subconscious mind, running as hidden programs that are directly determining your behaviors and experiences.
More importantly, beliefs fall into two basic categories--ones that support you and others that limit you. The good news is that the limiting beliefs can easily be changed so that you can create a new future.
One of the easiest ways to identify your beliefs about a person, place, or situation is to look at your emotional response to them. Today, notice what emotions arise. When you feel positive emotions, such as joy, love or compassion, celebrate. When you notice constricting ones, such as frustration, impatience, or anger, take time to pause, acknowledge the feeling, and then choose to change your focus to something positive. Just this simple act can begin to lay the foundation of change for your beliefs.
